What a thorough and helpful perspective to share, Cindy. This is super important information I wish I had had years ago during my own long marriage where financial imbalance was at the root of our eventual divorce in 2022 (I earned all the money but let him manage it, due to all my own childhood hangups, fears and insecurities about money. I also kept on earning without pressuring him very much to do something--anything--to help. And so now I regret not having kept separate bank accounts, not having my consultancy company in my own name, without him as shareholder...and more.
