Happy summer? Is it? Was it? Does it even matter?

Summer is such a complicated time for mothers, whether you work outside of the house or not. Summer camps, vacations, I can never seem to get into a groove before things change again. What time is drop-off? Pick up? What do they need to bring?

Alas, it is almost over. My oldest starts school on Wednesday.

So I thought I’d give paying subscribers a little update. As I mentioned, I put The Mother Lode on hiatus so that I could focus what little writing time I had this summer on the book I am working on. I spent the month of March creating a draft of a book proposal, and now I’m really trying to find my voice in the sample writing itself.
