Essential Episode: Creativity Is Not Optional

I’ve been a huge fan of Eve Rodsky’s since I read her book Fair Play and started following her on social media. One of my favorite phrases of hers is that mothers have to give themselves “permission to be unavailable” to our children. She just came out with a new book, entitled Unicorn Space: Reclaim Your Creative Space in a Too-Busy World. Her new podcast, in particular its second episode called Creativity is Not Optional, is a beautiful reflection on how creativity fuels us as humans. When we consider it an indulgence, or something to get to when we have time, we unknowingly cut off access to an essential part of our humanity.
