2023 was a big year for me. Moving out of my family home of 15 years, filing for divorce, writing a draft of my own book, all while trying to maintain some sense of stability for my children, who turned 12 and 10 respectively this year. I am very glad to be almost done with a year that brought so much upheaval.
But I also thought it might be therapeutic to see how much I accomplished in a year where I could have received a gold star for just surviving the chaos.
Given it’s more personal nature, this is a post for paying subscribers. I hope some of you might consider joining the readers who support me financially for doing this work. I am offering a 20% discount off annual subscriptions until Christmas Day. In 2024, I hope to offer audio versions for paid subscribers, and will start putting some of my archive behind the paywall as well. So now is your chance to get in on the all-access pass!
Read on for a recap of my year, some things that helped get me through, my favorite books of the year, and the very last Christmas gift I received from my ex (which was most definitely a sign that our marriage was over).
